This course will cover the full range of full text resources of interest to social and political scientists available at the EUI Library. Topics to be covered include: Where to look for E-Resources (Using the Catalogue / Articles+; Lists & Guides available on our web-pages); How to get from citations to full-text content – the use of citation databases for comprehensive searching (Google Scholar; Web of Science; Subject specific citation databases such as International Political Science Abstracts, International Bibliography of the Social Sciences and Econlit); Practical Information on E-Resources Access (Terms of Use; Access from home and beyond).

  • Research at the European University Institute is supported by an excellent Library in the Social Sciences, and a team of experienced librarians and information specialists.

    Nearly forty years of investment in collections, services and infrastructure, have resulted in an internationally recognised social science research library, valued for its multi-national character and the high quality of its collections with a special emphasis on Europe.

    Most of the Library’s print holdings are on open shelving. In addition, the Library provides its users access to an extensive collection of databases, full text e-journals, e-books and e-working papers.

    The Library has the status of European Documentation Centre (EDC), an official depository of EU publications and documents.

    The EUI subscribes to the principle of Open Access. Library staff strives to work with the academic community to increase the content, coverage and visibility of the EUI research repository, Cadmus.
